About Media AustraliaPeter WisemanPeter is a highly regarded media practitioner with over 30 years industry experience in media production covering film, TV, audio, photography, graphic design and journalism, with specialist skills in web design and interactive media production. He holds Certificate IV Training & Assessment, enabling him to teach in the TAFE / RTO system. Peter initially trained in graphic design at the renowned James Street Art School (Western Australia), before working as a professional designer and illustrator for several advertising agencies in Australia and overseas. Peter then joined the Australian Army, initially serving in infantry before being selected for the ADF’s Media Support Unit: a core component of the Operational Deployment Force in Townsville. Peter’s 12 year service involved extensive travel across Australia and overseas to take part in and document (in photographs, film and video) a range of challenging assignments. In civilian life Peter worked as a designer, cinephotographer, scriptwriter and freelance press photographer, with wide publication in most Australian newspapers, notably the Herald-Sun, and The Age. Peter concurrently expanded his interests in TV news and current affairs, working as a cameraman-editor, then producer, at commercial TV stations in Melbourne, Perth and Bendigo. Peter was recognised for his skills with a prestigious Penguin Award, and a Dalgety Rural Press Award. Peter began working with Geoff Russell in Bendigo over 16 years ago producing educational videos for the nation’s schools. They then formed Media Australia nearly15 years ago to expand into corporate, training and tourism related video production, as well as pioneer interactive media and web production in regional Victoria. Peter also teaches (part-time) in Professional Writing & Editing at Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE (BRIT).
