Geoff Russell BEd, BA

Geoff holds a double teaching degree in Media Studies / Drama, and a second degree in Philosophy / Art & Design. He is registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, and holds the mandatory Certificate IV Training & Assessment enabling him to teach in the TAFE / RTO system.

Geoff has nearly 30 years experience in media production covering film, TV, audio, photography, graphic design, journalism and public relations.

He has worked for commercial broadcasters STV-8 Mildura, ADS-7 News & Current Affairs Adelaide, BTV-6 News Ballarat, ATV-10 TEN News Melbourne, and WIN-TV News Ballarat in current affairs and news production, as well as daily staff and financial management. Geoff was recognised for his efforts with a prestigious Penguin Award, and a Dalgety Rural Press Award.

Geoff began working with Peter Wiseman in Bendigo over 15 years ago producing educational videos for the nation’s schools. Geoff and Peter formed Media Australia nearly 13 years ago to expand into corporate, training and tourism related video production.

Geoff is completing PhD studies in Victorian history at La Trobe University Bendigo, with his (research) thesis exploring the history of water supplies to the Central Victorian Goldfields.
Geoff also teaches (part-time) in Professional Writing & Editing, and Business Management / Marketing at Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE (BRIT).

He has also lectured in History at La Trobe University Bendigo and Shepparton, and is an Honorary Associate of the School of Health Sciences at La Trobe University Bendigo (where he regularly lectures in Health Promotion).
